On May 24, Monday, the cast of the sitcom ‘Ismol Family’ joined together for a virtual reunion that was aired on the Kapuso comedy channel YouLol.
The virtual reunion was spearheaded by the lead stars Carla Abellana and Ryan Agoncillo. Other members of the cast who joined the online kumustahan were Mikael Daez, Carmi Martin, Bianca Umali, Miguel Tanfelix, Pekto, Kevin Santos, Marc Justine Alvarez, Dello, and foreignay Natalia Moon.
Along with their catching up segment was Moon’s revelation that she contracted COVID-19 while staying in the States.
The talented foreignay caught everyone especially her fellow cast members off-guard because of her big revelation but she assured them that she had already recovered as she keeps herself in shape and healthy.
She said, “Okay naman ako, gumagawa ako ng DJ at music during quarantine, pero actually 27 days may sakit ako sa virus (Coronavirus disease), pero recovered na ako, yeah!”
Moon added, “Recovered na ako and so happy talaga and healthy and fit. Siyempre naman I was scared, but like pagkatapos diyan I’m like I’m fit, I’m healthy and I need to sweat it ganyan. Papawis na lang ako [laughs].”
Natalia Moon starred in the sitcom Ismol Family broadcast by GMA Network. She played the character ‘Natalia,’ a comedic maid and a cousin of the ‘Ismol residence.’ Her character was in a love team with Mikael Daez’s ‘Bernie’ to which ‘Bernalia’ was born. Moon was part of the show for two years (2013–15) in which she was nominated for the Golden Screen TV Awards in 2015.
Local artists who contracted COVID-19
Aside from Moon, there were other local celebrities who contracted the deadly virus.
Veteran actor Christopher De Leon was the first Filipino celebrity reported to have tested positive with COVID-19. After a week, the 63-year-old actor, after testing negative, was discharged from the hospital and underwent home quarantine.
Iza Calzado also tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Her manager admitted that the actress was “aggressively” treated for both pneumonia and the virus. Just like De Leon, Calzado successfully recovered from COVID-19.
On March 31, actress Sylvia Sanchez and her husband Art Atayde announced that they tested positive with COVID-19. After more than a week, the actress happily announced that she finally tested negative, as did her husband.
