Korina Sanchez has been very vocal about her thoughts regarding ABS-CBN’s shutdown and has not been afraid to take on bashers as well.
On her Instagram, Korina wrote: “House approves temporary renewal of ABSCBN franchise until end of October 2020. Okay. I guess dapat mag Thank You…na pinakinggan nila ang konsiyensiya nila. Kasi hindi naman talaga dapat yan pinasarado. So, no thanks for putting the whole country through this unnecessary stress and turmoil and for branding the Philippines in the world as a mockable state. Pero, sana, matuloy ang pangako? Kase nangako na dati sa Senate Hearing na hindi pasasarado. Pero pinasarado. Paano ito naiba? Pakita nga.”
“And okay naman magbanta si Senator Cayetano na hindi ito permanente. Okay lang. Sana lang siguraduhin ng mga legislators naten na ang magiging desisyon nila by end of October ay MAY BASEHAN ha? Because, again: this isn’t just a moment in time. This is each legislators’ legacy to their surname FOREVER that their descendants will carry. Sino ba naman ako? Just sayin’. 💚”
User @tryingtobestrongph commented, “Sana po mag aral na si kim chiu ulit para tumalino siya. Pakisabi po sa kanya.”
Korina responded, “@tryingtobestrongph wag kang BRUHA.
She was trolled by one basher who said she is one “frustrated First Lady” referring to husband Mar Roxas’s failed presidential bid.
Korina in defense, responded, “Iz dat da best you can do? O sya. Please leave. Sakapang bruha. Out!”
@johnnyjay1997 told her: “Buti nlng hindi si Mr. mo naging pres. Pihado panay pa-cute lang din gagawin mo…”
Korina answered back: “@johnnyjay1997 “Yan na ba ang best mo? Kaya naman pala yan nalang pinagkakakitaan mo troll. Proud kaya parents mo sayo.”
She won the hearts of netizens with her “palaban” responses.
Mar Roxas, Korina’s husband, was the standard-bearer of the Liberal Party for the 2016 presidential election. He was officially endorsed by then-President Nonoy Aquino to continue the present administration’s reforms, collectively dubbed Daang Matuwid (“straight path”), which he formally accepted on July 31, 2015. On August 3, 2015, Roxas officially tendered his resignation as Secretary of the Interior and Local Government in order to focus on his presidential campaign. After placing second in the election, Roxas conceded to Davao City mayor Rodrigo Duterte on May 10, 2016.
But blessings come in different forms as Mar and Korina later welcomed their twins to their lives, Pepe and Pilar.
