Former Kapamilya host Jobert Sucaldito remained on the offensive against ABS-CBN.
In his recent Facebook post, Sucaldito slammed ABS-CBN and its President and CEO Carlo Katigbak for according to him doing a “paawa effect” during the congressional hearing on the ABS-CBN franchise.

“Napanood ko finally in full ang Congressional hearing kanina re the renewal of ABS-CBN franchise sa YouTube. ABS-CBN President Carlo Katigbak delivered his opening speech with an emotional appeal sa mga kongresista referring to himself as a beleaguered kapamilya fearing for the future of every employee that may lose job should they not be granted the much-needed franchise. Diyan magaling ang ABS-CBN – sa pagkundisyon sa mga utak ng sambayanan na para silang inaapi when in fact sila itong magaling mang-api sa kanilang mga empleyado in the past,” Jobert said.
Jobert also scored the Kapamilya network for pretending to be good in public but in reality he said the network is “very cruel”.
“Iyan ba ang Kapamilyang sinasabi mo? Ngayon you are appealing to Congress na parang nag-aalala kayo sa mga buhay namin and referred yourself as a CONCERNED KAPAMILYA who cares for your employees. THAT’S A BIG LIE! YOU ARE NOT CONCERNED – sa totoo lang, YOU ARE VERY CRUEL!!!!! ABS-CBN IS VERY CRUEL in the guise of being mabait sa mata ng publiko..Kahit harap-harapan ay taas-noo kong sasabihin sa inyong YOU ARE VERY CRUEL!!!!!!!!,” he continued.
This tirade came even after actress Angel Locsin’s appeal to Sucaldito to accept the fact that he indeed made some mistakes that cost him his job in the network.
But Angel added that Sucaldito deserves a second chance and she will definitely help him at that.
Of the 20 years he worked at the Kapamilya Network, he never brought up any issue of the management’s alleged cruelty.
In January 2020, Sucaldito was issued suspension by DZMM over his controversial remarks against Nadine Lustre.
In his radio program Showbuzz, Jobert while slamming Nadine about her tirade against Ricky Lo, the DZMM insinuated that the actress should commit suicide.
“You are wrong here. Unang-una, gusto namin ipaalala sa inyo lahat na mga fans ng JaDine, hindi kami ang may pakulo ng lahat ng ito. Wala kaming alam sa mga buhay ng mga idols ‘nyo. Sila ang gawa-gawa ng kuwento na ang mali namin pinatulan namin kaya medyo lumaki at pinag-uusapan,” he said, referring to the actress and her fans.
“‘Di ba iyon naman ang gusto nila? Kuno-kuno na may mga labas ng puwet, naka T-back pa doon sa building, tapos may mga nakalagay na caption na parang gustong tumalon sa building. Sana tumalon na lang kung ganun din naman pala,” he added.
His statement quickly went viral on social media causing DZMM and ABS-CBN news to conduct an investigation.
According to ABS-CBN news head Ging Reyes in her statement after the incident, ABS-CBN will never tolerate this kind of behavior.
“We in ABS-CBN take the issue of mental health very seriously. This was even the subject of a recent documentary that we produced.”
“We are investigating reports that DZMM host Jobert Sucaldito uttered inappropriate and insensitive comments regarding actress Nadine Lustre’s state of mental health. Our journalists and other members of our team are accountable for their on-air statements,” Reyes said
DZMM then moved to suspend Sucaldito pending an investigation on the matter. Jobert, however, didn’t accept the suspension and went to DOLE saying he was illegally dismissed by the network.
“Jobert Sucaldito’s contract as an anchor of the DZMM program “Showbuzz” was suspended, as is standard procedure, while he is under investigation due to the remarks he made on-air about actress Nadine Lustre’s mental health.
“It is not true that he was illegally dismissed from his post. He was also given due process and was able to explain his side on the matter,” said DZMM in their statement.
Meanwhile, prior to the Nadine Lustre situation, his most recent beef was with singer Morissette Amon who had walked out of a concert he had produced for one of his talents. Jobert’s infamy rose to another level when he humiliated Erik Santos and his talent manager, Erickson Raymundo.
“This is not the first time that Mr. Sucaldito has been investigated for violations of the network’s standards and ethics manual, the KBP Broadcast Code, and provisions of his contract. Nevertheless, the network assures the public that his case is being handled with fairness and integrity and in adherence to the law,” added DZMM.
Jobert has had a lot of issues in the past, one was with Willie Revillame when TV host of Wowowee threatened to resign if the network refused to fire the columnist.
