Coco Martin, one of ABS-CBN’s biggest talents, did not hold back his words after the National Telecommunications Commission shut down the Kapamilya network.
During the Kapamilya stars’ gathering for an online protest #LabanKapamilya, the FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano star once again called out the government’s incompetence.
In the Facebook Live session, he first questioned the government’s priorities especially in this time of the pandemic, where it decided to let a giant media network shut down instead of focusing on the pandemic.
“Sabi ko, anong klaseng taong ‘to? Sa gitna ng pandemya, sa gitna ng nangyayari sa ating bansa, nauna niyo pang isipin ipasara ang ABS-CBN kaysa tugunan ang lahat ng pangangailangan ng ating bansa?”
He also lamented that ABS-CBN stars are usually the first ones who reach out to help when the country is hit with a disaster.
“Sa panahon ngayon, ang ABS-CBN at ang mga artista ang isa sa mga tumutulong sa mga tao ngayon. Ano pong malaking problema dun?”
Coco boldly called out the government for resuming Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO) amid quarantine period, “Ngayon po, ano po bang uunahin natin ngayon? Tanggalin ang kumpanya na tumutulong sa ating kapwa, sa lahat ng mga Pilipino? O ‘yung sugal na pinapasok sa ating bansa? Buti pa ‘yung POGO, diba, pinaglalaban ‘nyo.”
Coco strong statements has led netizens to ‘stan’ him for bravely naming government officials who don’t seem to be competent and fair.

This wasn’t the first time the Kapamilya actor name-dropped a government official after ABS CBN shut down, Coco also called out Solicitor General Jose Calida and sarcastically thanked him for the said shutdown.
