- Babajie has died at the age of 35 due to pneumonia
Comedian Babajie, or Alfredo Cornejo Jr. in real life, has passed away after suffering from pneumonia.
He died at San Lazaro Hospital in Manila on Monday, May 4 at 3:18 p.m.
He wrote, “Un na pala un tinototoo mo ung mga msg mo sa akin..
“Bakit? Maaga pa.. Bata ka pa..
“Alam mo kuya na mahal na mahal kita.. Ikaw ang pinakaclose ko noon pa man ikaw nag turo sa akin mag business.. Ikaw madalas kong kasama….
“Mamimiss kita.. I’m so proud of U lagi kita ipinag mamalaki. Lagi mong kakampi..
“Masakit kuya.. Ndi ko kayang sabihin..
“Queen Babajie Cornejo forever in our hearts. Kuya.. May you rest now…”

His wake will reportedly be held near his home. He will be buried at Sgt. Mariano Cemetery, Malibay, Pasay City.
On April 30, Thursday, a showbiz reporter falsely reported that Babajie had already died. This came up after news about the death of indie director G. A. Villafuerte was reported on April 29.
The comedian’s sister denied this news and proved it as fake through a post using Queen Babajie Cornejo’s Facebook account.
“Sa mga nagpapakalat ho ng fakenews jan na patay na kuya ko. Ayan ho kapatid ko. Buhay na buhay pa. Salamat po sa mga nagdasal at tumulong para sa kapatid ko. God bless you all.

Babajie appeared in some episodes of GMA Network’s gag show Bubble Gang, and was featured on Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho.
He became popular for having an unusual pointed chin.
He was thirty-five years old.
