In a press conference for Love Thy Woman, MJ Cayabyab confidently answered an intriguing question to which other celebrities might not provide any answer at all. In this video, MJ addressed the rumor about his sexuality.
MJ also shared that he does not get offended when people who have seen him at the mall think that he is really gay.
MJ said: “Lagi na lang, alam mo pag lumalabas ako sa mall, sinasabi nila ‘akala namin bakla ka talaga. Which is masarap pakinggan, pero pagdating sa sexuality, I am a human being, I am me.”
MJ plays the role of Summer Dy, who works as the senior interior designer for Dragon Empire, and a close colleague of Jia Wong (Kim Chiu). In the same interview, MJ expressed his gratitude for Love Thy Woman.
He stated: “A lot of people want to have my role, pero nasa akin siya. Maraming gusto maging artista pero ako na siya. It’s not something na negative for me, it’s something to be grateful.”

It is not known to many that MJ was not the original choice for the role of Summer Dy. He was recommended by Erich Gonzales, and for that, MJ is grateful to have a new project in ABS-CBN.
“Erich Gonzales is the original sa show, but she recommended me to Boss Carl de la Merced and then so happen Ms. Carl approved me to be the cast kaya thankful ako.”
Before he became Summer Dy in Love Thy Woman, the singer-actor was also part of Julia Barretto’s Ngayon at Kailanman, Erich’s Be My Lady in 2016, This Time with JaDine, and 100 Tula Para Kay Stella in 2017.
