Vice President Leni Robredo has called out a starlet for accusing her office of stealing from cash donations to purchase Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Sin Island cast member Jerome Tan ranted on his Facebook account about the Vice President Robredo who is allegedly stealing from cash donations amidst the health crisis that the country is facing.
Robredo posted a screenshot photo of Tan’s post and said “So, in the midst of this tragedy, may gana pa talaga mag fake news. Please check our page. We have been rendering regular reports of the PPEs we have already distributed and hospitals we have already served. Anyone can ask the hospitals directly whether or not they have already received PPEs from us.”

The Vice President explained that all the purchases of the protective gear has been reported and posted as part of the office’s transparency. They have already distributed said supplies to different hospitals.
There were 17,100 sets of PPEs from Robredo’s office that were distributed to 38 hospitals in Metro Manila, Tarlac, Batangas, Camarines Sur, and Quezon province.
Tan claimed that the donations intended for the PPE were stolen based on the information from the ICA Network.
“Please stop giving donations to the OVP Leni fund. They just called looking to buy N95 masks because they can’t find any. They said they couldn’t source enough PPE locally. When I said I’ll sell to them at cost but only if they have to help me distribute in the province, they came back and said they have enough N95 mask. Yeah right. They have P21M of your donations,” on Jerome post.
Robredo denied the allegations as it was their Angat Buhay partner, Kaya Natin Foundation, which “pays for our orders of PPE.”
“The cash donations are not with us. Our Angat Buhay partner, Kaya Natin Foundation, pays for our orders of PPEs. Hindi po yun dumadaan sa amin. The ones purchased by our office are the initial 1,000 sets of PPEs which came from our P5.9M appropriation,” she wrote.
She clarified that cash donations are not even with them and that the initial 1,000 sets of PPE they purchased came from the OVP’s 5.9M appropriation fund.
On March 25, Tan made another post apologizing to the Vice President for the false information that he had posted and shared on social media. He asked for forgiveness and admitted his mistakes.
