Kapuso host and actress Pauleen Luna-Sotto lectured a netizen on Facebook who requested her to sing ‘Spoliarium’ during her worship singing with husband Vic Sotto amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The couple performed worship songs and let their followers watch them perform. However, one netizen left a “rude” comment where he requested for the song “Spoliarium” which was popularized by Eraserheads.
The said song allegedly pertained to the rape of Pepsi Paloma by Vic, Joey De Leon, and Ricardo “Richie D’Horsey” Reyes.
Pauleen did not hesitate to school the netizen for his comment.
The 31-year old actress asked the commenter to stop the hate because it is what the world doesn’t need in this time of the COVID-19 crisis.
She said, “Hi, during this time, please stop the hate. We are praying for the good of all, including you,” and added, “God bless you kid.”

Back in 1982, comedians Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Ricardo “Richie D’Horsey” Reyes made headlines when 14-year-old teen star Pepsi Paloma accused them of drugging and gang-raping her. The case, however, was dropped as it was settled out of court and the three accused made a public apology to Paloma.
Senator Tito Sotto was the one who ‘whitewashed’ and pushed for the settlement of the rape case filed by Paloma and co-star Guada Guarin. Paloma revealed that it was Tito Sotto who forced her to sign the affidavit of desistance to drop the case which is punishable by the death penalty. In 1986, the teen star was found dead in her apartment, in an apparent suicide by hanging. According to the police investigation, her rape case was one factor of her suicide. Until now, her death is still a mystery.
In 2016, during the National Election campaign, Tito Sotto finally spoke up about the rape case. He denied his involvement and dismissed it by saying it was just a ‘gimmick.’
This is what Sotto said during his interview for the election special series of DZMM: “Para ho sa kaalaman ng lahat… gimik ho ni Rey dela Cruz (Paloma’s manager) ‘yun. Hindi ho totoo ‘yun. Pinagtangkaan nilang magkaso kasi tinira sila ng libel nina Vic (Sotto) at Joey (De Leon). Idinemanda sila ng libel kaya pinagtangkaan nilang balikan ng kaso. Pero makikita n’yo naman sa nangyari pagkatapos, wala naman dahil gimmick lang talaga ni nasirang Rey ‘yon.”
