Mocha Uson is at the center of controversy once again after a photo of her conducting a mass gathering made the rounds on social media.
According to reports, Mocha gathered more than 300 OFWs at a quarantine facility in Batangas last April 25.

Mocha even posted a photo on her social media account saying she visited the OFWs who are under 14-day quarantine in Batangas.

Any mass gatherings are prohibited during the enhanced community quarantine period.
That’s why netizens were furious about this latest blunder from the fake news queen.

Mocha, however, defended herself from the criticism saying she hasn’t violated any ECQ guidelines during the mass gathering with the OFWs.
In a Facebook post, Tuesday, April 27, Mocha said that they followed ECQ rules during the gathering. She also said that they’ve reminded the OFWs to follow all the quarantine guidelines because they received some reports of OFWs staying at the beach which is not allowed under the quarantine rules.
“Amin po silang pinaalalahanan ng mga alituntunin na dapat sundin sa panahon ng ECQ, tulad ng social distancing at hindi paglabas sa kanilang quarantine facilities, dahil may mga nakarating na balita sa aming tanggapan na may mga OFW na nananalagi sa tabing-dagat ng Matabungkay.” Mocha wrote.
Mocha also reiterated that they’ve strictly followed the guidelines set by the IATF, they just want to check on the OFWs welfare during their quarantine period.

Meanwhile, Malacanang has virtually distanced itself from the issue saying it’s up to the OWWA leadership to decide on Mocha’s fate.
“Ifo-forward ang impormasyon na ito sa OWWA Administrator, siya ang magdedesisyon,” he said in a media briefing,” said Palace spokesman Harry Roque.
This was not the first time that Mocha earned the ire of netizens regarding ECQ violations.
In early April, Mocha was also called out for spreading false information when she attributed SM Foundation’s donation as DOH purchased PPEs for the frontliners.
Although she quickly issued an erratum, netizens slammed Mocha for proliferating fake news while it was clearly prohibited under the Bayanihan Heal as One Act.
