Veteran Kapuso comedian Michael V expressed his opposition to people who help Filipinos and post it continuously on social media.
According to Michael V, now is the time to help anonymously and stop sharing photos of what you have done to help the frontliners as well as the community during this pandemic crisis.
Michael V posted: “NOW is the PERFECT time to HELP out ANONYMOUSLY. Feed the people. Not the ego. #HelpingWithoutPosting”

Michael’s post correlates to Tito Sotto’s resentment when the latter criticized people who post their donations online, he thinks that these people are doing it for self-gratification.
Tito Sotto said: “If you want to feed the hungry, then feed the hungry. But the moment you post it on social media, you are only feeding your EGO!”
My John Wooden amended version – if you want to feed the hungry, then feed the hungry. But the moment you post it on social media, you are only feeding your ego!

A lot of netizens pointed out Sotto’s resentment. They say they prefer to see people helping fellow Filipinos in the midst of crisis by posting it online as it somehow helps them to be inspired.

I dont know if nakakatulong po itong post nyo.

Or maybe they just want to inspire others to do the same. Just like what you do in EatBulaga… Different ways but the same intentions. God bless the Philippines and the Filipinos! ❤️

Why not post it so that everyone will be inspired to do the same lalo at nakangiti ang Pinakain

Meanwhile, Eat Bulaga TV host Joey de Leon agreed with Senator Tito Sotto’s statement by sharing (now deleted) the statement on his verified Instagram account with a caption: “Aray! Ang daming sapol!”
Sotto also took a shot at Manila Mayor Isko Moreno’s challenge to senators to sacrifice their one-month salary to help the Filipino community.
Walang Pilipinong maiiwan.”
