Actress, television host and commercial model Janine Gutierrez hopes for transparency and accountability from high ranking officials who are dealing with the Coronavirus Crisis in the country.
This is what she tweeted after the government presented an update on their efforts to combat COVID-19 albeit with a some factual errors and attempts at revising history.
I appreciate that there were economic, health and security point persons present. Glad to have ~some semblance of structure from last night. Still always hoping for transparency and accountability.

Department of Health Secretary Dr. Francisco Duque III claimed that the Philippines was the FIRST country to impose a travel ban. This was not true.
In fact on March 4, DOH said that the Philippines WILL NOT impose a travel ban on different countries infected by the coronavirus outbreak. These countries included Japan (with 293 cases with 6 deaths nationwide), Iran (2,336 cases with 77 deaths), Italy (2,502 cases with 79 deaths) and Singapore (with 110 cases) as of March 4.
Duque also claimed the Philippines has relatively “low” cases of coronavirus and has done better in containing its spread than the First World countries.
“Isa po tayo sa pinakamababa. Kung ihahambing po natin ang mayayamang bansa ay di hamak na malayong-malayo po ang ating ranggo kung titingnan po natin na ayan po malinaw naman po sa mga listahan sa COVID world tracker ay isa po tayo sa may mababa na rate of infection,” Duque said in press briefing led by President Rodrigo Duterte.
Actress Janine Gutierez previously called out the DOH to have some sense of urgency to step up with their efforts. Some Local Government Units give their best shot to fight the COVID-19 pandemic while safeguarding the welfare of their respective constituents, without support from the Department of Health.
The LGU's are trying. Konting urgency naman @DOHgovph! https://t.co/FACyFyryfC
