A known dog lover, Heart Evangelista-Escudero turned to Social Media her rage after the fatal road accident that left an eight-month-old pug dead.
Heart took screenshots of the dog’s owner, Janica, begging for help to catch the culprit.
This driver hit the dog with his Adventure SUV and seemingly not yet satisfied, ran over the dog again.
Heart tweeted: “It all starts with how you treat the ones who can’t defend themselves like animals. Hayop sila? Hayop ka din. Just because it’s common to see dogs all over doesn’t mean they are just “things” . Umiinit ulo ko dito kay kuya ha.” She tagged PAWS Philippines in her tweet for help.

Janica wants to file a legal case against that man who brutally killed her dog.
Nakakinis ang baba ng penalty nyan. Time to review the law. People who are cruel to animals will be cruel to other people.

As an animal lover, this netizen wants the culprit to be punished.

It is quite evident how huge Heart Evangelista’s love for dogs is. She brags about her dogs on social media, and seems too proud of their little achievements.

Heart Evangelista is an active advocate and volunteer of PAWS (Philippine Animal Welfare Society). This is her way of helping her much loved furry friends.
She is also seen rescuing the dogs affected from the recent Mount Taal Volcanic Eruptions in partnership with PAWS Philippines.

In December 2019, Heart teamed up with PAWSsion Project, a Bacolod-based, non-profit dog rescue group, to build a home for Kuya Jun and his many pets.
In June 2019, she announced that she would be building her own animal sanctuary in Sorsogon, where rescued animals could receive services such as spaying, neutering, tagging, and immunizations.
It a known fact that Heart has a huge heart not only for the pure breeds, but also for the ‘Aspins’.
Not so long ago, Heart Evangelista had netizens #shookt after posting a photo with her rescued dog on Instagram. While it may seem like an ordinary photo at first, eagle-eyed fans noticed something unusually expensive about it – particularly the scarf worn by her lovely Aspin, Princess Panda.
Curious if her dog is wearing a scarf made by a famous designer brand, one netizen asked: “Is that [an] Hermes scarf on her?” To which the former MYX VJ quickly responded: “Yes.”

Shared by a netizen named Myrtle Madel Cahayon, the scarf is worth $780 or approximately P40,000. Seemingly astounded by the amount of the scarf, she jokingly wrote: “Ito na naman si Mareng Heart ipamukha satin na mahirap tayo.”
