Through their relief initiative ‘Vital Pilipinas’, Gab Valenciano, together with his friends Victor Pring and Dave Valmocina, was able to feed over 6,000 families in Quezon City amid the enhanced community quarantine.
As seen in his Instagram account, their team has been to various communities in the city to conduct feeding programs and provide relief goods.
Some of the barangays they have visited are Barangay Bagong Silangan, Plastikan Compound, Barangay Holy Spirit, and Barangay Commonwealth. The latest area they visited was the Barangay of Payatas.
On April 15, the 31-year-old dancer and director shared with his followers the experience he had while providing relief to the QC residents who are greatly affected by the Luzon-wide lockdown.
“During this quarantine period, a lot can be said about our current status in society. The violence, the anger, the hate, and the fear. But what you see right here is where the strength of our people scream the loudest, “ he started.
“I am proud not just of our amazing team of volunteers and frontliners, but the resilience, kindness, and generosity many have shown through this very dark time,” he continued.
For precautionary measures against COVID-19 disease, Gab and his team also wear protective face masks and face shields when distributing out the meals, while the residents of the barangay also wear their own protective masks.
“To date, we have surpassed the 6,000 (families helped) mark and I must say it has been an eye-opener for me and the rest of the team. We don’t have any plans to stop nor slow down. This is just the beginning and I am blessed by the support we are gaining all over the world,” he added, alongside a series of photos taken from their latest visit.

Meanwhile, Gab was heavily criticized a few weeks ago by netizens who assumed that his controversial tweet about a politician whom he told to step down for risking many people’s lives was aimed at President Rodrigo Duterte.
There’s corruption, then there’s pure idiocy. It’s one thing to steal our money, another to put your own people at risk. Disappointment isn’t the word. Disgust would be more appropriate. Step down, sir. Or we will do it for you.

Later on, Gab clarified that his tweet was referring to Senator Koko Pimentel.
Tweet was for Koko. FYI. https://t.co/Nw5KjCzSU1

It can be recalled that Pimentel made headlines and became a trending topic for his ‘recklessness’ and ‘irresponsibility’ after he accompanied his wife to the Makati Medical center for her scheduled delivery, knowing that he was possibly infected with COVID-19.
Nonetheless, many netizens are happy that Gab is also helping others by providing food, instead of making tirades at the government. Some even encouraged him to continue what he is doing as the world needs more compassion and empathy at this time of crisis.
