GMA Network director Mark Reyes seems very devoted to the production of Voltes V: Legacy live-action series as he still working on the project despite the extended lockdown.
On his Instagram account, the Encantadia director who was also tapped to helm the project shared a screencap of the production team’s virtual meeting via Zoom.
The caption reads, “Some sense of normalcy. Team V5 volted in today.”
In the said post, GMA Senior Program Manager Helen Rose Sese, Executive Producer Darling Pulido-Torres, screenwriter Suzette Severo Doctolero, Lead Visual Designer Noel Flores, costume designer Bill Gustilo, Jay Santiago, and Ralfh Manuel Malabunga, who are all part of the pre-production team could be seen mimicking the legendary “Volt in” movement of the popular Japanese anime.

Up until now, the cast for the much-awaited live-action series Voltes V: Legacy has not yet been revealed.
Furthermore, taping for the said project has not yet started following the extended enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.

The official trailer of GMA Network’s upcoming live adaptation of the beloved animated series which was released on December 31, 2019, as part of the network’s New Year Countdown, gained mixed reactions from the netizens, most of whom lauded and praised the production team behind the amazing and high-quality one-minute teaser. Some found it nostalgic and many were excited about the upcoming live-action remake of one of the hit anime that many Filipinos grew up with.

In just one day, the trailer earned over a million views, and since then, became one of the hot topics online. The 1-minute trailer has already accumulated 2.1 million views, 72 thousand reactions, 50 thousand shares, and 10 thousand comments on Facebook, as of this writing.
According to director Reyes, GMA Network, in partnership with Riot Inc, a local post-production company, is handling the animation as approved by Toei Company Ltd- the owner of Voltes V.
The live-action remake of Voltes V: Legacy is set to air this 2020 as part of the Network’s upcoming project for its 70th anniversary.
