It’s been a month since President Rodrigo Duterte has put Luzon and some other regions in the country under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) to flatten the curve of COVID-19 pandemic.
As a result, Filipinos are mandated to stay at home and observe social distancing.
To fill the time, many people and artists have engaged themselves in different challenges on social media. Some have started vlogging on their respective YouTube channels sharing their daily routine, fitness goals, arts, and lifestyle through videos.
But some celebrities have found backyard farming as a new hobby and leisure activity that really helps our farmers who are also considered as frontliners in this time of crisis.

Aside from being a fitspiration to her fans, Kapuso actress Mylene Dizon’s love for farming is something we should get inspired by, too.
The 43-year-old actress promotes organic farming and produces her own food.

Aside from Mylene, her co-star in “Bilangin Ang Bituin sa Langit” Kyline Alcantara also engaged in backyard farming while waiting out the ECQ in Bicol. For the teen actress, Filipinos should start doing this strategy as it will not only guarantee food security but will also help the frontliners as this activity will prevent the people from going out of their houses just to buy food.
“Katulad nga po ngayon, lockdown, hindi po natin kailangan maging dependent sa palengke at makatutulong pa po tayo sa ating mga frontliners dahil mas male-lessen pa po ang ating paglabas-labas,” she stated.
Neri Naig-Miranda
Amid the COVID-19 lockdown, Neri Miranda, the wife of Parokya ni Edgar’s frontman Chito Miranda has been flooding her followers’ Instagram feeds with food, plants, and activities in her backyard garden.
