Bianca Gonzalez couldn’t help but feel happy with Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto stepping to fill the gap left by the National Government with its Social Amelioration Program (SAP).
Recently, the Department of Social Welfare and Development provided checks to local government units in Metro Manila for its SAP to help out citizens hit hard by the enhanced community quarantine. LGUs were told to prioritize the most vulnerable people, which has left thousands of families out of financial aid.
Pasig City is stepping in to fill the void left by the SAP of the national government. Mayor Vico Sotto announced that Pasig City will be rolling out PSSAP, or the Pasig Supplemental SAP.
On her Twitter account, Bianca retweeted Inquirer’s tweet featuring Mayor Vico’s announcement.
“Ang gandang balita pambungad sa simula ng linggo. Saludo, Mayor @VicoSotto!”

Rolling out the Pasig Supplemental SAP, he was quick to notice that Pasig City did not yet have adequate funds to offer the same amount as the DSWD but he said the city could possibly only supply P8,000 per family at the moment.
“Over the holidays, we studied the budget and cash position of the city so we know how much we can distribute.”
Netizens also admired the mayor for stepping in to fill the gap.
One of the BEST Public Servants ever elected! I’m so sure the people of Pasig are very grateful that Mayor @VicoSotto will be with them no matter what and is willing to help to the end! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Thanks much again for taking care of the least of our brothers and sisters! God bless you more and your family! Paging QC gov’t . Here at Batasan Hills at lot of them haven’t received any monetary help from SAP. Aanhin ang damo pagpatay na ang kabayo?
