Due to the mandated Enhanced Community Quarantine in Luzon, GMA Network had to air reruns of their previous series, like the drama fantasy, Encantadia.
Encantadia seems to be faring better during its rerun. Encantadia‘s writer Suzette Doctolero was surprised the show rated 15% against ABS-CBN’s May Bukas Pa rerun.
On her Facebook account, Suzette mentioned Encantadia‘s loss against FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano during its first run.
“Katulad nitong Encantadia, first part nito, talo ng Probisyano dati e. Yung second part lang ang nag rate talaga. Nag aaverage ng 12-13 ang ratings. Nagpapalitan ito at ang AP sa ratings. Pukpukan talaga.”
Looking back, the rivalry between FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano and Encantadia especially for the latter’s finale has been the stiffest competition on primetime in recent memory.
The Encantadia finale did better by 2.7 points than the FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. Encantadia received a 13.8% in AGB NUTAM rating while FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano received just 11.1%.

But now, the drama fantasy series is leading against ABS-CBN’s May Bukas Pa.
Doctolero seems to be surprised that Encantadia‘s ratings have risen during the pandemic.
“Pero ngayong nagka covid at saka nireplay after 5 years ay doon lang nag 15 sa ratings. Ay mas nag rate now? Hahaha. Nakakabaliw talaga ang industriya.”
According to the data of Nationwide Urban TV Audience Measurement, On Monday, May Bukas Pa scored 15.3% versus Encantadia 14.5% and on Friday, March 27 (Friday), May Bukas Pa and Encantadia got into a tight fight. The Kapamilya show got a 15.3% in ratings while the Kapuso show got 15.4%.
Netizens seem to have the explanation why Encantadia now has higher ratings, one netizen said that most of the working adults who are now home due to ECQ are fans of the fantasy show,
