Actress Angel Locsin expressed her gratitude to Megastar Sharon Cuneta for donating a big amount of money to her relief efforts to put up tents outside overcrowded hospitals to help the medical frontliners and COVID-19 patients as the country faces the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, the 34-year-old actress couldn’t help but reveal the amount Cuneta donated to her project after a netizen kept on questioning the Megastar’s intention of helping in this time of crisis.
In response to a netizen on Instagram, Locsin said, “Ms. Sharon Cuneta donated a whopping 3 million pesos para makatulong kahit paano sa overcrowded hospital situation ngayon. Binigay niya ito ng kusa at ayaw ipaalam.”
She also asked for Cuneta’s understanding of sharing the supposed private information to the public saying, “Pasensya na po Ms. Sharon at nasabi ko, ha? Just wanted to share my experience sayo kung gaano ka ka-charitable [smiley]”
Locsin then called out the said netizen and said: “let’s help each other at maging source ng positive energy! [smiley] kailangan natin lahat ngayon nyan [smiley]”
Cuneta, on the other hand, thanked Locsin for defending her and responded through a series of Twitter posts.
She said, “Dearest Angel, You didn’t have to. But in truth, it’s sad that in times like these when we should all be coming together to help those in need, to those of us who do help, meron at meron ka pa ring maririnig na masasakit na salita. I know you were hurt for me kaya mo nai-post ito.”

She also commended The General’s Daughter star for her never-ending efforts to help other people especially during this time that the country is battling with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Reflecting on the current situation, the 54-year-old singer and actress admitted that despite having good intentions in helping others, some will still have something hurtful to say about you.
“Ang hirap din tumulong. Kahit galing sa puso mo, may kokontra pa rin. Pero sabi ng Diyos ‘Do not tire of doing good…'” she wrote.
Thank you, my Angel. And saludo ako sa yo sa walang hanggan mo at walang kapagurang pagtulong sa kapwa natin. Ang hirap din tumulong. Kahit galing sa puso mo, may kokontra pa rin. Pero sabi ng Diyos “Do not tire of doing good…” Sana magkaisa talaga ngayon.God is teaching all of

Nonetheless, the “Bituing Walang Ningning” hitmaker believes that God is teaching us lessons through this pandemic and maybe one of those is to “be kind to one another and to help in every little way we can even though no one is praised.”
“God sees. God knows. And HE is the only one worth ‘impressing.’” she said.

God knows. And HE is the only one worth “impressing.” Magkaisa na po tayo. Peace muna puede? Love you Angel. God bless you and all of us ‘artistas’ who are doing what we can to contribute. Also every single person who does the same kahit di artista.

Cuneta and Locsin have been friends even before the latter transferred to the Kapamilya station.
On February 4, the veteran actress shared on her Instagram account a throwback photo of herself with Locsin dated from around 2005 or 2006.
The picture shows a younger Cuneta with her arm wrapped around young Locsin’s shoulder, as they smiled and posed for the camera.
In the caption, she expressed her appreciation of Locsin who is one of the humblest and kindest persons she knows. “Lemme tell you about this woman. Kahit nasaan siya sa laki ng ABS-CBN, pag nalaman niyang nandun din ako somewhere in the complex, pupuntahan niya ako kahit gaano kalayo para lang mag ‘hello.’”
Meanwhile, Locsin’s relief initiatives have already set up 95 hospital tents and 14 sanitation tents at 51 hospitals in and out of Metro Manila including Las Piñas, Laguna, Cavite, and Batangas, as of April 8. Aside from Cuneta, other stars who silently helped Locsin were Regine Velasquez and her husband Ogie Alcasid, Anne Curtis and her husband Erwan Heussaff, and Dimples Romana.
