SINGAPORE, 10 APRIL 2020 – Independent singer-songwriter, Amanda Ong, announces the release of her brand new single, Zero To Me. The single is now available on all major digital services providers. Produced and performed by Amanda, Zero To Me is a personal song that was written during a low point in life awhile back.
Zero To Me depicts a one-sided conversation with a mentor figure, hoping to make them proud one day despite feeling desolate in the present. The song explores forlornness and the darker side of one’s mind.
Influenced by English singer-songwriter, dodie, it is a solemn violin and cello duet balanced out by a perky ukulele. With an immense passion for supporting the Singapore arts community, Amanda consistently commissions a different local illustrator for each cover art and Zero To Me is no different. The cover was illustrated by Eilis Ong, a budding local artist and alumni of the School Of The Arts (SOTA).
“It’s my first time working with string instruments in a song and, wow, I didn’t expect it to turn out so well. I hope you all enjoy listening to it as much as I did producing it, and appreciate the lovely strings too!” says Amanda.
As Amanda ramps up on her production plans this year, listeners can look forward to more music as well as an EP in the coming months. The EP will bring six songs that delve into her experience living on her own in Melbourne for two years.
