As of this writing, 64 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed and there have been six deaths already as of this writing.
After the spike in the number of individuals affected by COVID-19, celebrities could not help but lament about the government response during the press conference wherein President Duterte declared “State of Public Health Emergency.”
Talent manager Ogie Diaz was one of the public figures who expressed his disappointment via a Facebook post as the President failed to respond directly to the necessary questions to calm Filipinos and assured them that the government has the solutions to combat the pandemic.

Meanwhile, folk singer-songwriter Bullet Dumas sought for help as the President seemingly won’t in the face of this crisis. He also reiterated that everyone, both wealthy and poor, is affected by the pandemic by enumerating the worst scenarios that could happen in a country such as:
- Canceled work and events
- Suspended classes
- Loss of profit for businesses and corporations
- People have left with insufficient funds
- The government seems to be unfit to handle such a situation
Hanep 'to. We are all affected.
Canceled work, events, school, etc.
Walang pera mga tao. Walang consumers. Lagut ang businesses and corporations. Walang kita.
Lagut lahat.Downplay pa more. Di maayos ang pagkahandle.
Hirap maging 3rd world!Someone help us.
Coz Duterte won't.— Bullet Dumas (@bulletdumas) March 12, 2020
In addition to that, a netizen from the Twitterverse has captured the attention of Juan Miguel Severo.
According to the netizen with a username of @blckpnkrev, celebrities should have joined forces to start fundraising to be given for the scientists to continue replicating the test kits they have produced, and tagged Angel Locsin, Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, and Juan Miguel.
Juan Miguel explained that celebrities are already doing a lot of charity work and paying huge taxes to the government.
The latter fact alone, Juan Miguel stated, meant that celebrities should hold the government accountable.
