With Robin Padila’s recent rants about ABS-CBN’s treatment of its employees, a veteran columnist could not help but recall an incident involving Padilla and GMA Network production staff.
In his column in Bandera, veteran columnist Ronnie Carrasco recounted how Padilla scared GMA Network staff on his primetime series Joaquin Bordado.
According to the columnist, Padilla went wild one day scaring the production staff of the show. Padilla reportedly went on a rampage when he didn’t like small details in the editing.
After the incident, GMA Network staff vowed not to work with Padila again because of that attitude, recalled Carrasco.
Padilla suddenly became a labor issue advocate
Padilla has been all out lately lambasting ABS-CBN for its alleged unfair labor practices.
He even threatened fellow actors and actresses who openly support ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal to bare their contracts and bank accounts to compare it with those people working off cam who according to him are being unfairly treated by the network’s management.
In his continued rage against his former network, Padilla also dragged Coco Martin’s name after the latter also came out publicly with strong support for the renewal of ABS-CBN’s franchise.
Padilla accused the FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano star of maltreating his crew in the teleserye by splashing water on them when they fall asleep.
Although, Padilla has apologized for his “thoughtless” rants saying he was just overtaken by his emotion as an ex-convict, Carrasco believes Padilla and even his kin will now have a hard time getting projects with the Kapamilya network just like what to him with GMA.
“As a gift to my wife this Valentines Day, I apologize to all her family and friends in ABS-CBN, ganon din sa GMA at TV5, patawarin niyo ako the ex-convict in me overtook my emotions, inaamin ko ang aking pagiging mapusok. I could have said my piece in a spiritual way. Let’s give the profit of our labor to our employers but our voices to the laborers,” said Robin.
