Comedienne and Magandang Buhay host Melai Cantiveros thanked ABS-CBN for reassuring her and other employees that, following the suspension of their regular morning program due to COVID-19, they will continue to be compensated.
“ABS-CBN, bibigyan ng suweldo ang mga manggagawa kabilang na ang mga artista at managers habang walang trabaho dahil sa COVID-19. Yes totoo. Thank you Kapamilya network, my company, dahil sa mabilisang aksyon sa COVID-19 at ‘di rin kami pinapabayaan mga trabahante.”

In regards to this, ABS-CBN released a statement that they will pay artists and staff of their shows their salaries despite production being put on hold.
The Professional Artist Managers, Inc. (PAMI) group expressed its appreciation to the network,
“For its swift and decisive action to help contain the spread of COVID-19 by temporarily suspending all of its productions involving our Artists, specifically; and all its cast and crew members, in general.
“ABS-CBN gave us, Managers, and all our Artists, the needed reassurance that, beyond ratings and revenues, the health and safety of all their Kapamilyas will always be their paramount concern.
“Furthermore, we appreciate, their kindest and most generous consideration to continue compensating the cast and crew of ongoing productions during the suspension period without the need for request or demand.”
A Facebook post of Jennifer Cruz Adriano, Rosanna Roces in showbiz, thanked ABS CBN for compensating them despite the suspension.
Luzon is currently on enhanced community quarantine in an effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
“I am placing the entire mainland of Luzon under quarantine until April 12, 2020 coinciding with the entire end of the Holy Week. Let me make myself clear, this is not martial law,” President Duterte said in a public address.
