Engineer Slater Young compared the enhanced community quarantine to the time he was a Pinoy Big Brother housemate.
Slater mentioned that they did not have an internet connection, they were not allowed to see their families, and they only had limited food to eat inside the PBB house.
Many were offended that he would compare the coronavirus crisis to a reality show. Due to the negative reactions, Slater deactivated his Twitter and apologized through his Instagram account.
Even though he apologized, netizens were still triggered by his post and sent him hate messages and wished his child won’t be ‘airhead’ like him. But then, Slater fired back and said it’s unnecessary to drag his child into the issue.
Despite the hate messages he received, Slater remained positive and encouraged everyone to find forgiveness.
The former PBB housemate was not expecting that he would have support from other netizens who praised him for his humility. Slater’s initiative to do a public apology earned him the respect of some netizens.
