- Ogie Diaz hit back at Mocha Uson for criticizing ABS-CBN
- Diaz and Uson had been exchanging tirades recently
Comedian and actor Ogie Diaz hit back at Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Deputy Administrator Mocha Uson after the latter criticized ABS-CBN for accidentally preempting a Metro Manila ‘coronavirus lockdown’ advisory.
In a statement, the news bureau of the Kapamilya network admitted mistakenly posting a “draft art card” on its social media account, stating that Metro Manila is under lockdown due to the 2019 novel coronavirus or COVID-19.
Many netizens were alarmed by this news and Uson took to Twitter to expressed her dismay over the broadcasting network.
“You trolls were so happy when I erroneously mentioned La Trinidad Baguio, but this grave mistake done by ABSCBN that may cause mass panic you are so quiet. #HYPOCRITES #nganga,” Uson wrote on Twitter.

Although a few hours after ABS-CBN’s premature announcement of the lockdown, President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the imposition of a “community quarantine” in Metro Manila for at least 30 days to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
Diaz then dug up Uson’s past mistakes in her social media posts which immediately became memes online.
He explained that the ABS-CBN News posted the same advisory of the president though unexact and a bit earlier.
“Anyway, so nag-create ba kamo ng mass panic?
Diaz added that Uson should have encouraged the public and thanked the frontliners in this time of the crisis.
Lahat tayo, apektado. At kailangang magkaisa.’
Diaz ended.
Uson has been going all out on social media downplaying ABS-CBN and its supporters. She also accused the senate of being a PR machine of ABS-CBN after they conducted the hearing on ABS-CBN franchise violations.
Last February 19, Diaz slammed Uson for attacking critics of the government online and asked for a list of her accomplishments in OWWA.

On Monday, March 9, Uson dismissed Diaz’s challenge for her to release the list of her accomplishments in OWWA.
According to her, the actor’s statements are mere “tsismis” because it’s his job as a showbiz reporter.

Diaz is a vocal critic of Uson and the government’s incompetence while the female public official has been criticized many times for proliferating fake news on social media.
