Many netizens aired their disappointments toward Deputy Director of Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Mocha Uson who recently commented on the controversial mistake of It’s Showtime.
In the recent episode of the “Piling Lucky” segment of It’s Showtime, contestant Ginalyn Canillo was asked to choose one of many paintings for a chance to take home a cash prize worth P550,000, or a “negosyo” package. The contestant was able to pick the painting which rewarded 5 kilos of rice.
For transparency, the hosts of the variety show checked each painting only to find out that one prize, which is the “negosyo” package was excluded from the 24 choices. For this, the show was accused of cheating and this incident immediately trended online.
Many people did not hesitate to express their disappointments with what they have witnessed.
Uson, a constant critic of ABS-CBN, became aware of what happened and used the situation to throw some shade against the giant network.
On Twitter, the OWWA Deputy Director sarcastically claimed that ABS-CBN will be able to pull through the situation since there are senators who got its back and deliberately mentioned the name of Senator Grace Poe.
She said, “Ok lang yan. Nandyan naman mga Senador natin handa kayong pagtanggol sa lahat ng bagay. Carry na yan. Yung nga ibang atraso niyo sa taumbayan napalusot nila yan pa kaya. Wala lang yan.”
A lot of netizens expressed their disappointment in Uson and some even said that she is not worthy of the huge salary that the government pays her.
In 2017, Uson served as a member of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) through her appointment as Assistant Secretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO). She then resigned from her position in 2018 following a series of gaffes. In September 2019, the former secretary was appointed by President Duterte as the new Deputy Executive Director of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
A netizen slammed Uson and accused her of being a “fake news promoter” and brought about the controversy where the latter mistakenly thought that Mt. Mayon was located in Naga.

A Twitter user also commented saying “Sa gobyerno ni Duterte, ito ang pinakamakapal ang apog!” and wished that the government will not renew her appointment papers.
Sa gobyerno ni Duterte, ito ang pinakamakapal ang apog! Sana di na i renew appointment papers nya! Walang silbi! Hello Civil Service or CESO! https://t.co/qfQcmw4Wee

Ethel Booba, also commented on the issue after a netizen called out the actress regarding Uson’s post saying, “Antayin natin ang palusot nanaman ng ABSCBN. Magaling sila dyan.”
She Booba said, “Wala naman, hayaan na lang natin sya mag-antay ng mag- antay hanggang mapagod sya. Charot!”

The management of ABS-CBN has already issued an apology and admitted that there had been an error, and Canillo will receive the omitted jackpot prize.
