- Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho maintained a wide-lead against its timeslot rival Gandang Gabi Vice last Sunday, March 8
- The Kapamilya program failed to win the interest of many viewers with its final episode
- The fate of GGV is ironic as the comedian host once made fun of the prominent broadcast journalist in one of his concerts in Araneta
Gandang Gabi Vice officially ended its nine-year run on March 8, 2020.
As the final guest, TV5 host and broadcast journalist Raffy Tulfo was featured in the show.
Aside from thanking the people who supported his show since day 1, the comedian host also apologized to all the people his show might have unintentionally offended.
He said, “I am not perfect, the show is not perfect… sigurado ako may mga pagkakataon na-o-offend namin kayo. Ang mga nakasanayan ninyo sa buhay. O ang trip ninyo sa buhay. O hindi ninyo trip ang mga ginagawa namin. We apologize po. Wala po kaming intention na masama.”
Nevertheless, the talk show host thanked everyone by saying, “But still thank you very much. This is a very big blessing.”
On Twitter, the 43-year old comedian-host also expressed his deepest gratitude that GGV lasted for nine years from the initial 12 episodes only proposal.
“Napakasarap malamang masaya kayong nakapiling ako at ang GGV sa loob ng 9 years. Masaya akong nakapagpasaya ako. Salamat po!!! #GandangGabiVice.”

He also encouraged his fans and loyal viewers to not be sad by confirming that GGV will be back. For now, it will be taking a long break as a new show will grace the Kapamilya TV screens every Sunday, replacing GGV in its timeslot.
Don’t be sad. No goodbyes. GGV will be back. Isang mahabang commercial break lang. I love you guys! #GandangGabiVice

However, for the last time, the Kapamilya talk show failed to lord over its rival program, Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho.
According to the data recorded by Kantar Media, the now-defunct program garnered a rating of 11.3%, more than half lower than KJS’s rating of 26%.
The battle of the ratings was given a different definition as the hosts of the two shows were once been in a controversial issue which got the war between networks personal.
Vice Ganda and Jessica Soho headlined several reports back in 2013 when the former made a “cruel” joke about the latter in one of his concerts in Araneta.
His rude comments about Jessica’s weight and even putting her in a gang rape scene not only offended the multi-awarded host-journalist, but also those who found his ‘joke’ a little too far and too demeaning. Vice accepted his mistake and apologized to Jessica who accepted it.
Before being pitted with KMJS, GGV used to be in rivalry with The Boobay And Tekla Show which undeniably gained the interest of many viewers resulting in its higher ratings than Vice’s program.
Due to change in schedule, GGV was pitted against KMJS.
