After performing in the Tawag ng Tanghalan Celebrity Series, Filipina-American actress Roxanne Barcelo captured the attention of viewers of It’s Showtime.
Will Roxanne Barcelo also known as Roxee B will replace It’s Showtime host Anne Curtis who is on maternity leave?
In an interview, the 35-year-old stunner was asked if she’s friends with Anne.
“Of course super. Everytime na nagkikita kame 1 to 10, 11.”
But does Roxanne want to be a part of It’s Showtime?
“Parang ang hirap din mag ganun eh parang ‘beke nemen,'” Barcelo answered.
But she clarified that she’s thankful and grateful for the noontime show.
“More than anything I only have gratitude towards Showtime and Tawag ng Tanghalan. Gratitude yung talagang thank you that you’ve helped me find my voice again.”
Last year, the actress revealed that she once tried to appear on the series in the past.
After her sweet “Ugoy ng Duyan” version made her “Madlang People’s Choice” with the most popular votes. Roxanne implied that she had always wanted to be part of the noontime show.
But now the singer-actress clarified that she never wanted more from the show, her appearance on Tawag ng Tanghalan was already enough of an opportunity for her.

“At the end of the day, hindi ako nag hahangad ng ‘please give me more.’ The fact na they encouraged me to join the contest, they encouragde me to sing again. they encouraged. I can’t repay that with anything.”
She also shared that because of It’s Showtime people also saw her once again as a singer.
“Para ma-disover ko ulit uy kakanta pa pala ako. even if the only person who believed me in me was tatay, Ngayon ang dami palang naniniwala na I can sing. Ngayon pag nagtratrabaho ako, ‘uy she’s ano 2nd runner up sa tawag ng tanghalan.’ ‘She’s really a singer.’
“Salamat sa Tawag ng Tanghalan, salamat sa Showtime for giving me this opportunity.”
