Iza Calzado earned the ire of netizens when she commented on Lea Salonga’s post. Iza had said then that the pandemic COVID-19 was the universe’s way of making the world a better place and to just watch Netflix and chill during the enhanced community quarantine.
But, last week the 37-year-old multi-talented actress tested positive for coronavirus disease.
In line with this, netizens can’t help but consider it as ‘karma’ for Iza for downplaying how serious the effect that COVID-19 and the quarantine had on other people’s lives.

So yan na pala bagong awareness achuchuchu ng mga mayayaman na wala sa realidad ang sintido. 🙄

Fortunately, there are netizens asking others not to tell Iza Calzado that it’s karma for her to have COVID-19 disease, here are the reactions of netizens encouraging the others to stop the hate.

Stop telling Iza na karma niya iyon. Let’s be better citizens. Unang-una, maaring PUM na siya when she posted that and that she is projecting it sa situation niya.
Let’s be kinder mga beqs.

A netizen reiterated that maybe during the time Iza commented on Lea’s post, she was already a PUI or a person under investigation, and it’s just one of her ways to lighten up her situation.
Iza Calzado said something out of touch before but it’s too much when people say “karma” on her getting Covid.
Come on people. Di naman kadumal dumal ginawa at sinabi nya.
Matagal ng chimis may sakit sya. Probably was a PUI when she said that, kaya nagpapaka positive lang sya— Name cannot be blank 🐰💜🪷 (@parksodamned) March 25, 2020
A netizen who goes by the name of Seo Dan @Cperspective2 stated that people mocking Iza and ranting that the actress is insensitive about the situation should also check their privilege, as others don’t have the ability to be fully informed online for they cannot afford to have an internet connection at home.
"Ang insensitive ni Iza Calzado"
Iza tested positive, people starts mocking her. Hypocrites. Sa mga nagsasabing karma is a bitch, ingat baka sa susunod ikaw naman. Check your privilege din, you have a device and Internet to spread hate while others don't even have home.— Ray (@Cperspective2) March 28, 2020
Iza may have her ‘karma’ now for being insensitive before, but is it necessary to celebrate her current condition?
To the people celebrating Iza Calzado's condition, what makes you different from the very thing you hated about Iza?
I mean, karma had her now, why is it essential for some to drag her? Ain't karma enough? Ain't y'all a bit hypocritical?

To those people saying na "nakarma si Iza Calzado", mga sizt, to everything you've said and is saying about her, di ka ba takot aa "karma"?

Meanwhile, some netizens firmly believe that this is not the right time to poke fun at Iza’s current condition.
Thus, people should pray that everyone infected by the COVID-19 would be healed, and for others who can’t stop hating and telling Iza that this is her karma should wait for their turn to face their own.

sa dami ng hate na kayang ibato ng mga tao, sana ganon din ka dami ang pagmamahal na kaya nating ibigay.
Iza Calzado's, situation is not something to celebrate. If this is her Karma, wait for your Karma.
