The whole of Luzon has been in lockdown to minimize the possible risk of the virus transmission known as COVID-19 coronavirus.
While many have been quarantined at home, there are a great number of people still have to go out since they are on a “no work, no pay” basis. In order to have money for their daily needs, they need to go to work even in lockdown in order to survive.
Media personality and entrepreneur Cat Arambulo earned the ire of the netizens after posting a video on social media where she berated these unfortunate workers. “God why don’t you motherf*ckers just stay at home” while watching news of some netizens who were caught by men in uniform.
A Twitter user named “NO CHILL MILLENNIAL @darnitJC” furiously reacted to her saying that they don’t have the luxury to stay at home like her.

In her video, Cat said, “This is exactly why they need the military coz u f*ckers won’t stay at home.” Her lack of empathy for people earning below minimum wage on daily basis only fueled people’s anger.

Netizens felt that she wasn’t sorry at all after hearing her so-called apology video. They said that she still blames the people who still go to work amidst the virus threat for she doesn’t know how it feels to be hungry if they don’t work.

Social distancing may indeed help to avoid the transmission of the virus but for some workers especially contractual workers they have no choice but to work to earn some money to buy food and to keep themselves healthy to fight sickness.
