Darren Espanto has been showing off his well-defined biceps and abs on his Instagram account lately. What made the 18-year-old singer decide to expose his fit body?
Darren said, “Since 18 na po ako, gusto ko lang din po na bumagay yung overall figure ng katawan ko sa edad ko.
“Since I’m getting older, I feel like I want to make the frame of my body a bit more mature na din. “
Aside from this, the The Voice Kids season 1 runner-up was asked how he spent the day of hearts.
The talented singer admitted that he had no date other than his dog and that he actually spent Valentine’s Day with his family in Nueva Vizcaya.
When asked about Jayda Avanzado, Darren revealed that they are very “good friends” and he hopes to have a collaboration with her in the future.

“Jayda and I are very good friends po. And, she’s so talented talaga as a singer, as a composer, as a musician… Hopefully soon po. I really ,like that to happen. So far, duets lang po ‘yung nagawa namin,” he responded.
With regards to his singing career, will Darren represent the Philippines in the new season of Singer in China?
He said, “Sa ngayon po kasi, it’s something na we wouldn’t like to talk about yet.
“Pero, ‘yun nga po, may mga unfortunate events na nangyari tulad po nung coronavirus and the travel ban.”
Singer is a Chinese reality show based on I Am a Singer the Korean show. This singing competition gathers well-known singers from across the globe to battle for first place.
Last year, Darren appeared on the show as a guest and impressed the viewers with his singing prowess. He performed the song “We are The World” as he was joined by Russian singer Polina Gagarina, Chinese rapper Air, and Kazakhstani child singer Daneliya Tuleshova.
Meanwhile, the young singer has released a new single titled, “Sasagipin Kita.”
Darren Lyndon Espanto is a Filipino artist who rose to prominence after joining the first season of The Voice Kids Philippines. He ended up as 1st runner up, while Lyca Gairanod took home the title.

After his The Voice Kids journey, Darren, at the age of 13, has dropped his first studio album, Darren, which is now a certified Double Platinum. In 2015, he staged a major solo concert at MOA Arena.
In 2018, he ventured into acting and landed the role of Yohan (younger brother of George, portrayed by Kathryn Bernardo) in The Hows Of Us starring Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla under the direction of acclaimed director Cathy Garcia-Molina.
In May 2019, Darren, along with the Asia’s Phoenix Morissette Amon, was selected by Disney to perform the rendition of “A Whole New World” as part of the promotion of the movie Aladdin in the country.
