On February 17, Monday, the Miss Universe 2015 titleholder posted a photo of her holding the blue jersey that Lebron James used during the NBA All-Star Game which was held last Sunday at United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

The caption read, “The wet (from the sweat) jersey from a champion. Congratulations #TeamLeBron (heart emoji).
“If you’re a die hard collector, this jersey (among others) are available for auction at auctions.nba.com on Tuesday! All proceeds will go to the Mamba Mambacita Sports Foundation (ball and heart emoji) #NBAAllStar.”
However, some netizens could not help but air their thoughts after noticing that Pia was wearing gloves while holding the legendary basketball player’s jersey.
A netizen commented on her post and wrote, “Wow sana all (lol emoji). Naka gloves pa talaga ‘di puwede siguro hawakan ‘pag walang gloves protection hehehe.”
However, the beauty queen clarified that there’s no problem holding the jersey with bare hands, but it was soaking wet that they provided her gloves to use.
“Puwedeng hawakan ng walang gloves. Pero basang basa kasi kaya nag provide sila (smile emoji).”
Some commenters were in awe just how lucky Pia was for having the chance to cover the NBA All-Star Weekend and hold Lebron’s jersey. Some also joked if the best basketball player’s jersey smells good even when it was covered in sweat.
The blue jersey of Lebron is still available for auction, together with other NBA valuable players’ jerseys. According to NBA Auctions site, all proceeds from the auction will be donated to Mamba on Three Fund and the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation to honor the Basketball Legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna.
Pia Wurtbach is a Filipina-German artist, model, and beauty queen. She was crowned as Miss Universe in 2015. After her reign, she landed the lead role in the 2018 romantic film, “My Perfect You” opposite Gerald Anderson.
