After Dingdong Dantes and Kris Bernal expressed their support for ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal, The Love of My Life lead actor and former Kapamilya Tom Rodriguez hopes the government will provide fair judgment for ABS-CBN.
According to Tom, discussing the issue of ABS-CBN franchise renewal is beyond his knowledge but he tried to analyze both sides of the issue. But Tom also acknowledged the fact that thousands of employees are in danger of losing their jobs.
Tom said: “I tried to look at it from all aspects. Whether it’s the aspect of the government, kung ano pinaglalaban nila with the quo warranto, the aspect of the network kung ano rin pinaglalaban nila, the people I worked with that I loved from that network, yung mga trabahador nila, mga proponents, yung mga against.”

“I tried to look at it, kaya ang hirap makapagbigay ng opinion kasi labas siya sa scope ng kaalaman ko. Hindi ko alam kung ano talaga ang nangyari, let’s try to be sympathetic as we can in all sides and let the law handle it. Hopefully the law will prevail and it will be whatever judgments may come out of it with fairness and equality. Sana tama ‘yung kakalabasan.”
As per Tom, this is not the best time to lose hope and let the government agencies as well as politicians be accountable for this matter. He also recalled the time he was discovered by ABS-CBN in the States. For that, he’s forever grateful for the Kapamilya network.
He continued: “Although our judicial system isn’t perfect, pero we can’t lose hope, we still have hope for the best, let’s keep our government agencies accountable or politicians accountable. But also, try to be objective and let emotional appeals dictate our decisions.
“Kasi ako, I owe a lot of things to ABS-CBN as well, Malaki ang utang na loob ko sa kanila, without them, I wouldn’t be here. Sila ‘yung naka-deserve sa akin sa States at nagpadala sakin dito at forever akong nanatili ung pasasalamat sa kanila.”
“Siyempre naiintindihan ko mga hinaing ng mga kaibigan ko sa mga trabahador na mawawalan ng trabaho I understand kaya I’m hoping for the best out of everyone, sana lahat manaig sa magiging decision.”
Moreover, the Office of the Solicitor General requested the Supreme Court to release a gag order that will prevent any parties to discuss the merits of its quo warranto petition against ABS-CBN Corporation and ABS-CBN Convergence Inc.
SolGen Jose Callida accused the giant network of attempting to elicit public sympathy with high hopes to change the resolution for their issue.
