Kapuso hunk Ruru Madrid and Phenomenal Star Maine Mendoza made us believe in the power of love with their Magpakailanman Episode “Lovers in Funeral,” which was aired last Saturday, February 8, 2020.
In an interview, the 22-year old actor shared that he was glad to be part of Maine’s first episode for Magpakailanman. He also revealed that it was Maine’s personal choice to pair up with him.
He said, “Nakakatuwa kasi nga parang, tinanong sya kung sino ‘yung gusto niyang ka partner tapos ako ‘yung sinabi niya.”
He also recalled how the actress teased him by saying, “Wala na kasi akong ibang maisip e.”
The young star admitted that he admires the Dubsmash queen for her incredible passion for her career.
“She’s very nice and I know na sobra nya ring love yung craft niya. Kasi nga nakikita ko rin ‘yung pagiging seryoso niya when it comes sa trabaho,” said the TODA One I Love star.
“Nakakatuwa na nakatrabaho ko siya and nakita ko ‘yung lalim nya when it comes to acting,” he added.
Ruru and Maine were friends even before they had projects together. With their growing friendship, the Protégé Runner-up shared that they are open with each other and they are not ashamed to share their personal problems with each other.
Ruru is also thankful for the Kapuso actress’ fans welcoming and supporting him as well, as Maine’s love team partner.
“Nakakatuwa sila dahil sinusuportahan din nila ako,” he stated and added, “Gumagawa din sila ng loveteam names namin ni Maine.”
Maine and Ruru first worked together when the latter made a guest appearance as “Anton” in the sitcom, “Daddy’s Gurl,” which airs every Saturday.
For the second time, the #RuMaine loveteam worked together again in GMA’s weekend anthology, Magpakailanman with the title, Lovers in Funeral. The episode was released on February 8, 2020.

Meanwhile, Nicomaine Dei Capili Mendoza, also known as “Maine Mendoza” is a break out artist who rose to fame for her viral Dubsmash videos and her unforgettable role as “Yaya Dub” in the Kalyeserye segment of noontime variety show Eat Bulaga! Her unscripted pairing with Kapuso actor Alden Richards created a huge buzz, in which gave birth to the ‘AlDub” loveteam.
Beyond Eat Bulaga, the Phenomenal Star made guest appearances on several Kapuso shows such as Vampire ang Daddy Ko (2015), Sunday PinaSaya, and Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko. She landed her first lead role on television in the drama series, Destined To Be Yours opposite Alden.
Maine currently appears on the sitcom “Daddy’s Gurl” as Visitacion ‘Stacy” Otogan, daughter to Barak Otogan portrayed by Vic Sotto.
