Concert Queen Pops Fernandez will be one of the judges for GMA’s upcoming singing competition Centerstage.
During the media conference, Pops shared her perspective on how to be a good performer.

According to Pops, it’s frightening to be a live performer especially you don’t know what will happen next, if you can’t beat the high notes, or you tripped on stage. More than that, to be a good performer you have to keep on entertaining the audience no matter what happens.
Pops said: “You never really know what’s gonna happen on stage, no matter how many times you rehearsed.
“I think what makes a performer a good performer, maski na may hindi tama on stage hindi mararamdaman o makikita ng mga tao na mali ‘yon.“
She even shared that her leather pants got ripped during a sexy dance performance in one of her gigs.
But you have to continue because, ang idea of live performances is, your audience shouldn’t know what’s happening on stage. Nakakatakot, but at the same time that’s the challenge.
Nadapa na ako many times, nakalimutan ko lyrics, but that’s the test of true performer and that is the beauty of a live performance.”
Meanwhile, as a fellow judge of Pops on Centerstage, Aicelle Santos happily recalled that sometimes her friends used to call her ‘composer’ whenever she forgot a line in the lyrics.
Centerstage will start airing this coming February 16, 2020, on GMA Primetime at exactly 7:40 in the evening, right after Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko. Aside from Pops, Aicelle, and Mel Villena as the judges, Betong Sumaya and Alden Richards will also be part of the singing show as hosts.
