ABS-CBN’s Make It With You is going viral online for its epic phone call blooper involving the characters of Liza Soberano and Katya Santos.
On Twitter, former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Paco Evangelista posted on Monday, February 25, a 32-second short clip where the characters of Liza and Katya were talking over the phone.
The funny thing is, while Katya is talking to Liza through her phone screen, the latter put the phone near her ear.
In the caption, Paco wrote, “That moment in Philippine TV history where Katya Santos is videocalling Liza Soberano’s ear.”

Many netizens also noticed this hilarious continuity lapse and aired their unsolicited thoughts online.

A Twitter user made light of the situation and compared the characters of Katya and Liza to Goblin and the Grim Reaper in the K-drama series Goblin who doesn’t know how to use phones.
Some netizens also pointed out that there’s a possibility that the scene was shot on different days or with different directors.

A Twitter user also reacted and pointed out that Katya’s phone was on loudspeaker even though she was looking intently at the screen.

A witty netizen cracked a joke saying Katya’s character was checking Liza’s “tutuli.”

A netizen pointed out that Make It With You’s episodes including the phone call scene are “for airing,” which is why there’s no time to reshoot a wrong scene.

“For airing” is a TV production term which means a scene is taped on the very same day it needs to be aired.
Nonetheless, this epic blooper made the day of many TV viewers and netizens, but this is something the producers should take seriously so as not to repeat the same mistake again.
On February 19, GMA Network’s afternoon series Magkaagaw also went viral on social media for the same reason—a continuity lapse.
The scene showed Sheryl Cruz’s white pants covered with mud, but after standing up from the mud a few seconds later, her supposed muddy pants appeared almost clean with only little traces of mud.
