Kapamilya stars Loisa Andalo, Ronnie Alonte, and Donny Pangilinan couldn’t contain their excitement that their movie ‘James and Pat and Dave‘ will soon be out in theaters as Star Cinema’s Valentine’s offer.
In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News by MJ Felipe, the three talked about their upcoming big-screen outing.
Loisa admitted that this is a surreal moment for her, as it is the first time that her film will be shown on Valentine’s Day.
“Nakakakilig kasi dati nag-aabang lang ako tuwing Valentine’s ng mga ipapalabas ng Star Cinema. Ngayon, kaming tatlo ‘yung ipapalabas kaya sobrang blessed and honored talaga,” she said.
Recently, the twenty-year-old actress tweeted something unexpected in the middle of her thank you and promotion updates on her Twitter account, saying, “Mapa hayyyyyyy ka nalang talaga ….” Netizens took it as her reaction to her project not being included in the ABS-CBN teaser trailer of upcoming projects.

Meanwhile, Ronnie reprises his role from Vince and Kath and James where he was in a love triangle with Vince (Joshua Garcia) and Kath (Julia Baretto).
“Ito ‘yung buhay ni James. Ano ang buhay ng hindi pinili? ‘Yun ang aabangan ng mga tao. Nakakakaba din.Hindi ko alam kung paano ako kakapitan ng tao dito from sa first story ng ‘VKJ’ tapos ngayon. Excited ako, sana ma-appreciate nila.”
With new characters, Pat played by Loisa Andalio and Dave played by Donny Pangilinan, Ronnie as James is in a love triangle once again.
Kapamilya star and social media heartthrob Donny explained that their film had some revisions and adjustments which is why it took some time to release it.
“Para sa audience, para mas ma-understand nila ‘yung characters namin lahat, naging mas deep ‘yung story,” he said.
“James and Pat and Dave” is the sequel to the 2016 blockbuster “Vince and Kath and James.” which gave rise to the former love team JoshLia.
Director Theodore Boborol gave a hint on what should we look for in the upcoming movie.
“Lahat naman tayo at some point in our lives, whether tungkol ito sa love, friendship or school, minsan hindi tayo napipili. So napapatanong tayo, ‘Bakit hindi ako?’ Ang sakit noon. Iyun ang pinakahugot at ‘yun ang kailangan matutunan at makikita sa movie.”
