Seven unfinished movie projects, terminating her contract with Viva films, Viva warning third parties of legal consequences of hiring Nadine Lustre… Will these factors lead to Nadine Lustre becoming a ‘frozen delight’ any time soon?
The camp of Nadine and with the help of Kapunan and Castillo Law Offices informed the public last January 27, 2020 that Nadine was no longer an exclusive talent of Viva Artists Agency (VAA). In regards to Article 1920, Lustre’s lawyers claimed that the actress shall directly manage her affairs from now on.
“She is self-managed and will continue to be so indefinitely, she shall directly manage her affairs from now on, and bookings and inquiries may be directly addressed to her.”
Viva fired back at Nadine and said she still has seven projects under their management and that she cannot make any deals or professional engagements without their consent.
Here’s the part of the official statement released by the VAA:
“Any dealings or professional engagements entered into by Nadine, without the consent or approval of VIVA constitutes breach of contract. Viva shall initiate appropriate legal action against Nadine and/or third parties that directly deal with Nadine in contravention of VIVA’s Management Contract.”
In response to Viva Artists Agency’s threat of legal action, Nadine’s camp accused the film company of taking advantage of young artists and harassing third parties interested in working with Nadine.
“It’s about time that a David strikes out a Goliath that has taken advantage of young artists in the industry for the longest time. They chose to wait in ambush to malign Nadine and harass third parties dealing with her in good faith. This is wrongful and malicious contract interference by Viva actionable in law for damages.”
