Sen. Nancy Binay has made her stand that she would vote for the renewal of the ABS-CBN’s franchise once the bill reaches the senate.
The senator admitted this in an interview with Bloggers and Media during the launch of her new book at Big Bad Wolf, World Trade Center, Pasay City.
“I will vote if it reaches the senate, I will vote for the franchise. Kung may kailangan ayusin sa franchise trabaho namin sa congreso na ayusin namin yung pagkukulang or idagdag.”
Also, Senator Binay said that the local media giant has been the source of information for the masses.
“But at the end of the day, we need ABS CBN kase isa yan sa nagiging source of information. Para sa ating mga kababayan.”
Even if Binay, whose family members have been the subjects of national coverage on allegations of corruption, believes that they have not been treated fairly by the network. she still believes that it’s not about them.
“Naiintindihan ko naman yung pinanggagalingan ng iba kong kasamahan. I’ve experienced that but yung na nga. It’s not about us. It’s about what’s good for all of us.”

Recently, Binay took a stand against Cyberbullying by publishing her own book. Charcoal Confessions: 46 Home-Brewed Tips vs. Cyber Bullying, that outlines her experience with cyberbullying and offers light-hearted ways to express positivity through online harassment.
“After three heat-intensive years of being the center of online hate, there are many personal realizations that somehow led me to understand the feelings of those who have been bullied in social media and the painful experiences they’ve been through,” she said.
Charcoal Confessions is even published by ABS-CBN Books. It features her reflections and tips on coping with online bullying based on her own experience with bashers and the experience of her colleagues.
