For GMA Network’s 70th anniversary in 2020, the network will offer a range of shows to its viewers.
This includes the network’s newest singing competition show Centerstage that will bring together aspiring child performers aged 7 to 12 from all over the country for a world-class yet friendly reality musical show.
In the preparation of this newest singing competition, they have made sure that these kiddie performers will be able to handle any conceivable disappointments by tapping a psychologist for the kids’ welfare
Centerstage host Alden Richards mentioned this during a recent media conference for the show.
Kapuso’s vocal powerhouse Aicelle Santos, one of the judges of the Centerstage, also said, “We have a resident psychologist here para sa mga bata and for the parents as well. We want to be careful with our words, especially.”
Judges Pops Fernandez, Mel Villena, and Aicelle Santos revealed that the young contestants ‘ backstory will have an impact on their overall performance.

“Somehow it really helps even though siyempre iba pa rin ‘yung talent sa real life story, ako I get carried away also. Naiiyak na rin ako, nagiging emotional na rin ako and somehow you’d want to help this child, right? You want to help them excel also and of course, tama ‘yon, win the prize money.
“Somehow it helps. Somehow, may malaking factor,” Pops said.
“It’s hard to judge especially in a contest, siyempre, there will always be a winner and there will be the others who will get disappointed, so mahirap din.
“Ayoko ma-disappoint sila to the point na titigil na nila ‘yung dream nila sa pagkanta. So we want to be as encouraging and inspiring as much as possible,” Pops added.
