- Kapuso actor Dingdong Dantes took to Twitter his opinion regarding the pending franchise renewal of the Kapamilya Network
- Dantes expressed his support for ABS-CBN, the rival of his home network
- His bravery and positive disposition earned praises from the netizens
Kapuso actor Dingdong Dantes earned praises from the netizens for standing with ABS-CBN Network amid its controversial franchise renewal.
The Descendants of the Sun star took to his Twitter account his support for the rival network a day after the office of the Solicitor General Jose Calida filed a quo warranto petition before the Supreme to nullify its franchise which is due to expire on March 30, 2020.
Expressing his opinion on the matter, he wrote, “Magkaiba man ng bakod, we are one in the media industry. We have one love for the many talents and crafts under this Network, the products and output of which, directly or indirectly, benefit the lives of millions of Filipinos.”
In his other posts, Dantes also quoted a portion of Buhay Party-list Representative Lito Atienza’s privilege speech last Monday on the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN.
As shared by Dantes, Atienza said, “Inaction will only spell the weakening of the foundations of our democratic system… This Congress is really paralyzed with inaction; and we should not be deserving to be called representatives of the people.”
His other post reads, “In the end, I pray that the true interests of the people, under the rule of law, will prevail over any other political agenda conveniently veiled as a countermeasure against alleged abuses.”
Netizens who saw his post applauded the actor for his bravery to stand with ABS-CBN despite network rivalry. Some Kapamilya fans can’t help but salute the Kapuso actor for having the guts and bravery to stand with ABS-CBN, unlike other Kapamilya celebrities who until now, have not given a statement on the issue.
Below are some of the reactions of the netizens:
"Magkaiba man ng bakod.." This is the most compassionate tweet coming from a true Filipino. May your tribe increase..

Shame on those artists who will be directly affected of the issue, if this will push through, but not saying anything and keeping their mouth silent. Kudos to Dong for showing his support for unlawful, injustice political attack of the 16M pinoy's best president.
