Despite the issue he had with ABS-CBN’s noontime show It’s Showtime when he was left out of Tawag Ng Tanghalan Celebrity Champions due to an act of ‘injustice’, veteran comedian Ate Gay hopes that ABS-CBN will get its franchise renewal before it expires in March 2020.
In a Facebook post, Ate Gay recalled his first TV guesting on the giant network’s show AngKaybol. He used to be one of the regular cast members of Maid in Heaven with Cherry Pie Picache and Pokwang and of the horror series Okatokat as Bona the headless maid in 2002.
“Una kong guesting sa sitcom AngKaybol ABS-CBN bata pa sila Nikki Valdez at sa amin ni Jon Santos (ate Vi) ang storya.. naging regular ako sa Okatokat (katulong na walang ulo) ..regular din ako sa Maid in Heaven..at madalas ako sa Rated K.”
Among his friends in the entertainment industry, Ate Gay expressed his gratitude to Luis Manzano for always inviting him to be part of the former’s game show like Minute To Win It.
He continued: “Mahal na mahal ako ni luis manzano kaya sinasali nya ako sa mga show nya kagaya ng [Minute to Win It]..at ilang beses din ako sa wowowee at SarahG…salamat Abs Cbn… pagdasal ko na di kayo mawala dahil marmi kayong binibigyan ng trabaho..”
Ate Gay and his issues with Vice and It’s Showtime
Gil Morales in real life, Ate Gay revealed months ago that management of It’s Showtime did not specify the reason why he would no longer be part of the special edition of Tawag ng Tanghalan.
As opposed to Vice Ganda’s comment last November 2019, Ate Gay denied that he ranted on Facebook after he was “disinvited” from the contest but rather he was just informing his followers that he will no longer be part of it. He could not answer why he was removed as the management did not specify the reason.
