Calix Phil, an artist, went on Twitter to express dismay about his delayed compensation from Star Cinema.
Calix Phil’s song was used as part of the soundtrack for Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto’s Block Z film.
Grabe naman @StarCinema, kelan niyo ba ako babayaran? Puta naman #BlockZ
Kaya pinapasara ABS eh

It’s been more than three weeks since Block Z was released in cinemas nationwide and Calix has not yet received his payment.

According to Calix, he tried to compromise with Star Cinema and offered the company a budget-friendly rate, but has remained unpaid to date.
“Mura na nga ng singil ko sa inyo, hindi niyo pa ako mabayaran. Putang ina. May mga gastusin akong kelangan bayaran, oh. #BlockZ Star Cinema.”

Calix tagged Star Cinema’s official account in his posts but there was no response from the company.
He also told the production company to share the blessings from the gross income and pay him to settle his accounts for electricity and water bills and for groceries.
Putcha, patikim naman ng 3 weeks runtime niyo sa sinehan @StarCinema #BlockZ !!! Pambayad lang ng kuryente, tubig, saka pamalengke! Sige naaaaa
— CALIX (@calixphil) February 17, 2020
The artist also claimed that before Block Z was released, there was a clear agreement between both parties.
Tang ina, bakit ba laging yung mga trabahante niyo kelangan mag dusa sa katarantaduhan niyo @StarCinema! Bago pa ilabas yang #BlockZ klaro naman usapan natin ah? Balita ko marami pa kayong di pa nababayaran eh
— CALIX (@calixphil) February 17, 2020
Nakakatawa nannag hahanap kayo ng kalidad sa ~*~Philippine Cinema~*~ eh yung mga studio tulad ng @StarCinema saka Keep Filming di marunong magbayad on time, jusko. #BlockZ
— CALIX (@calixphil) February 17, 2020
Calix said that before Filipinos can look fo making quality films, production companies need to pay people properly first.
Baka kelangan siguro mag demand muna tayo ng quality of life, bago quality sa ~*~Philippine Cinema~*~ ha? @StarCinema? #BlockZ
— CALIX (@calixphil) February 17, 2020
Calix even posted a screenshot of his online bank account with only Php17.87 in it and tagged Star Cinema, Keep Filming, and Phyllis Grande.
