- Argel Saycon bagged a role for a Jollibee commercial
- He was known as a former Pinoy Big Brother Otso housemate
Former Pinoy Big Brother Otso, Batch 4 adult housemate Argel Saycon shared how he got his first role in a Jollibee short film commercial, the third and final offering of Jollibee’s trilogy this month of February.
Argel started pursuing his dreams by joining pageants in the province of Negros Oriental and working as a model. His appearance on ABS-CBN’s Pinoy Big Brother opened doors for him in the showbiz industry.
In an interview with LionhearTV, the 21-year-old “Prodigal Probinsyano ng Negros Oriental” said he is extremely happy about passing the audition and having this break.
“Tinawagan nila ako na may casting for this project so pinuntahan ko na hindi ko naman in-expect na makukuha talaga. Sobrang saya ko na at nagpasasalamat sa Diyos.”
He added, “Sobrang excited at sobrang saya ko kasi gusto ko talagang umarte at yun nga nabigyan ng chance.”
Argel said he is also glad for receiving positive feedback online as his Jollibee commercial was released.
“Sobrang saya ng napanood ko na ang video, mga comment ng mga tao,mga shares.”
Argel bared that he was also trained through different workshops before.
“Sa Starhunt po may workshops kami. Sa agency namin meron din kaming acting workshops, dance workshops.
Argel said he is happy for receiving support from his family and friends from PBB in his acting career.
Apart from having his first-ever commercial, Argel has been cast in the musical adaptation of the hit series Tabing Ilog. He will be playing the role of Fonzy, previously portrayed by Baron Geisler.
Argel admitted his new role is challenging.
“Sobrang excited tsaka malaking responsibilidad ‘to sa akin. Kasi dati si Baron Geisler yun eh,isa sa pinakamagaling na actor sa ABS-CBN.”

Though this is his first time to do theater, he promised that he will give it his best shot.
“Ibibigay ko lang talaga lahat ng best ko. Inaaral ko rin lahat sa script, sa pagkanta. Ayokong magkalat dun at gusto kong maging successful yung show namin.”
Tabing Ilog The Musical will run from April 7 until March 26 of this year. It tells the story of a group of friends who are navigating through adolescence and facing the challenges of growing up.
