Gandang Gabi Vice has been running for eight years now and has earned awards throughout its run.
In 2013, it won the 27th PMPC Star Awards for Television’s “Best Celebrity Talk Show Host”, 2014, the 28th PMPC Star Awards for Television’s “Best Celebrity Talk Show” – Gandang Gabi, Vice! and 28th Star Awards for Television’s “Best Celebrity Talk Show Host” – Vice Ganda and 2017, it won the 31st PMPC Star Awards for Television’s “Best Celebrity Talk Show” – Gandang Gabi, Vice!
But despite the awards, it had its fair share of controversies over the years.
At his concert I-Vice Ganda Mo ‘ Ko Sa Araneta on May 17, 2013, GGV host Vice Ganda poked fun at GMA News anchor Jessica Soho’s weight in a sketch about celebrities as bold stars.
The controversial issue allegedly caused some advertisers to withdraw from the show, despite being at the top of the ratings.
Last 2018, Sarah Geronimo and James Reid were supposed to be promoting their Miss Granny movie on the show, but Sarah’s Mommy Divine stopped recording the episode.
Also, because of the Gandang Gabi, Vice falling ratings because of The Boobay and Tekla Show, it was shifted to an earlier time slot at 9:30 pm, but it was still beaten by another GMA Network show, Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho.
