The Gift continues to enjoy positive feedback from its loyal viewers and from advertisers. Recently, the tandem of Alden Richards and Sophie Albert are showing great promise onscreen.
Richards’s character Joseph had a near-death experience that lost his sense of sight, but gained the ability of clairvoyance. Albert’s Helga is a psychic with the ability to see dead people and her mission is to help lost souls.
This series is directed by Lord Alvin Madridejos that premiered on September 16 last year.
Prior to Albert being partnered with Richards, there were two other female stars that were fielded to be the latter’s love interest, and they were—Mikee Quintos and Thia Thomalia. Both only had brief stints with Richards as leading ladies.
Scenes with Mikee did not quite had any spark due to the female star’s image and she looked like Alden’s younger sister instead.
Since the tandem of Richards and Albert is picking up, Vin Abrenica, the latter’s boyfriend for almost six years now, is proud of his girlfriend’s blossoming career.

In an interview with Vin on January 20, he his reaction on the team-up, “I’m so proud of her na kasama nya si Alden sa kabila, paired up sila, diba? Ngsastart pa lang siya diba? So para sa akin gusto ko talagang ma reach nya yung goals nya, I want her to be whole. Okay lang. I want them to grow, I want them to grow [with right thumbs up].. sana mag..kung dalhin man dun ang kanilang career, I’m good. I’m so proud.”
Is he jealous?
“Hindi. I want her to grow..ang nakakabuti ng career nya, Kung to and makakaganda ng Buhay nya, Kakaganda ng personality nya, lahat! Better sa Kanya. I want her to grow.”
Abrenica and Richards haven’t met yet and still don’t have any chance to talk.
“Hindi pa kami nag-meet. Hindi pa kame nakapag-usap,” Vin said.
Despite that, Sophie shared a lot of good things about the Pambansang Bae to her boyfriend.
“Mabait siya, magaling na artista. Na nagbibigay siya, giver so alam mo yung pagbinibigyan ka. Alam mo yung pag binibigyan ka, ang atake mo, all you have to do is give back. Nagagalingan ako sa kanilang dalawa, si Alden naman ay magaling talaga..at ako ay proud dahil alam ko naman talaga na magaling si Sophie. Magaling siya, so magaling silang dalawa,” Vin shared.
Abrenica and Albert met in 2012 when they both competed in the talent search show Artista Academy. The couple initially broke up in 2016 but got back together in less than a year.
