Celebrities and media support ABS-CBN
On the recent issue of ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal, the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) has voiced out their concern about the job losses that may happen if ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal will be refused.
“We are one in calling on Congress to reconsider the renewal of ABS-CBN’s franchise, which is set to expire on March this year. We fully believe in upholding the freedom of the press and of expression in our motherland, the Philippines,” said PMPC in its statement.
Even Kapuso actors and actresses like Kris Bernal showed her support for ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal.
In an interview with LionhearTV, Kris Bernal said another network’s presence will bring out the best in every celebrity that will hopefully benefit the audience they’re aiming to serve.

“Sana hindi matuloy ang shut down kasi bilang artista, maganda rin sa amin iyong may kabilang network na nakakapag-excite rin sa amin. May pressure, may challenge, at saka may pag-uusapan,” the actress said.
