Award-winning writer and ABS-CBN Creative Manager Mel Mendoza-Del Rosario was surprised that her post about Senator Bato Dela Rosa’s statement went viral a day after it was published with over 7, 200 shares and 6,700 likes from the netizens.
Mel used an alien character Kokey as it showed a resemblance to Sen. Dela Rosa’s facial feature to express her personal opinion.

In a quick conversation with PEP, Mendoza emphasized that it was her personal opinion and she was not assigned to do such witty post by the network.
Aside from Kokey At Ako, Mel Mendoza -Del Rosario also wrote the screenplay for the following remarkable films:
- Sana Maulit Muli, 1995
- Basta’t Kasama Kita, 1995
- Wanted: Perfect Mother, 1996
- Do Re Mi, 1996
- Dahil May Isang Ikaw, 1999
- Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw, 2000
- Pangako… Ikaw Lang, 2001
- Pagdating ng Panahon, 2001
- Magkapatid, 2002
- Ang Tanging Ina, 2003
When Sen. Dela Rosa was asked for his opinion on ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal, he stated that it’ll be good to prioritize the welfare of the entire Filipino nation compared to giant network’s 11,000 employees.
He said: “Is that really 11,000? Are you sure? Anyway, regardless of how many, what is 11,000 (people) compared to the whole Filipino nation that this company has taken advantage of? If that can be proven during the hearing. What is 11,000 compared to the whole Filipino nation?”
Due to Dela Rosa’s dismissing the concerns and welfare of the 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN, some celebrities expressed their dismay and concerns like Angel Locsin, Agot Isidro, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Agot Isidro, and filmmaker Kip Oebanda.
Sir, allegiance to country first! Dapat di kayo nag-senador kung biased kayo.
Nakakapanlumo.

Nakakalungkot 😞 https://t.co/DiLpcmXCpf

Sing along time ..
🎤🎼 Di mo alam dahil dito
Daming di makakain
Di rin makakatulog
Dahil gusto mong saraduhin
Kung ako'y muling boboto
Sana'y di maging katulad mo..
Tulad mo na May pusong… BATO! 😞 https://t.co/jOqRnKH66p— carmela brosas (@kbrosas) February 19, 2020
