ABS-CBN has recognized its imperfections while promising to maintain the highest level of integrity.
In a statement days after the OSG has filed the quo warranto petition at the Supreme Court, the Kapamilya network has acknowledged being an imperfect organization but at the same time assuring the public that they will continue to work in the service of the Filipino.
“While we are not a perfect organization, we assure the public that we strive to maintain the highest level of integrity as we work to deliver services that many Filipinos believe to be important and meaningful to them,” ABS-CBN said.
In the same statement, ABS-CBN also thanked everyone for their overwhelming support.
The broadcast giant also expressed gratitude to the Congress and Rep. Antonio Albano for his statement that the network may be legally allowed to continue its operations even after their franchise expires.

Several lawmakers including Albano and Senate President Tito Sotto have issued separate statements saying ABS-CBN’s franchise expiration would not automatically mean network shutdown.
“May I remind the public that even if the ABS-CBN franchise expires on the said date on March, it does not mean that ABS-CBN will close completely because the rule of thumb in the committee, we were briefed on this while this 18th Congress is ongoing, hindi po titigil ang services ng ABS-CBN hanggang po matapos ang (ABS-CBN’s services will not be terminated until the end of the) 18th Congress,” said Albano.
“Basta as long as may naka-file na bill, it is deemed extended until matapos ‘yung 18th Congress at hindi pa rin hini-hear.
“It has happened so many times with other franchises. That is the operation of law… If it is not approved until March of 2022, that is the only time it is terminated,” Sotto said.
Here’s ABS-CBN’s complete statement.
We appreciate the statement of Rep. Antonio Albano that ABS-CBN may be legally allowed to operate even after its franchise expires.
We also appreciate the commitment of Congress to go through the renewal process at the appropriate time. We trust in this promise.
We have issued our statement on the Solicitor General’s accusations, and as directed, we will submit a more detailed response to the Supreme Court within the prescribed period.
We want to thank everyone who has expressed overwhelming support for ABS-CBN.
Our passion to be of service to the Filipino is real.
While we are not a perfect organization, we assure the public that we strive to maintain the highest level of integrity as we work to deliver services that many Filipinos believe to be important and meaningful to them.
