- Musical director Mel Villena still has the same feeling and remembers his stints with GMA Network.
- He is excited to work with certified Kapuso stars to whom he calls ‘with such a big hearts’.
Mel Villena is a composer and musical director. He has been in the entertainment industry, particularly in the field of music production since 80s. After years of serving in the Kapamilya network, he is now back to his home network the GMA Network.
He worked with various artists like Megastar Sharon Cuneta, the Broadway Diva Lea Salonga, The Company, Martin Nievera, and Mitch Valdez.
In an interview, Villena was asked about his experiences and how does he feel about his return to the Kapuso network.
“Ang experiences ko dito sa Kapuso channel … ay napakalawak na, dahil nagsimula kame nun, mga dekada 80 pa yun eh,” he reminisced.
He also shared and gave compliments to the kind treatment the Kapuso has given him from the production staff and all the way to the celebrities. He described it as memorable and beyond beautiful.
“Mga Kapuso talaga, they have such a big heart. Everybody was very creative.”
He also mentioned a memorable project he did with the Network in 2007– the Coca-Cola ride to Fame, he was the musical director of the show.
“Every week iba’t-iba ang nagyayari, since iba’t-iba yung mga styles nung mga bata, yung contestants.”
Apart from that there were a lot of projects he did in the past that he is proud of.
“Again, it is always fun to be here.”
