Magkaagaw’ stars Sheryl Cruz and Jeric Gonzales finally addressed rumors about their alleged romantic relationship. The rumors broke out after the two stars were cast as secret lovers in the afternoon series.
According to a report by Lhar Santiago’s on 24 Oras, Sheryl reportedly visited Jeric at a rehearsal, after the latter’s alleged split with his non-showbiz girlfriend last December. But the Kapuso star denied this accusation.
“Unang-una wala naman akong girlfriend ngayon kaya paano magkakaroon ng dahilan para mag-breakup? Single ako, single po ako ngayon,” Jeric said.
Jeric added that he only laughed at these rumors saying that their series might have effectively influenced the viewers.
“Natawa tsaka natuwa nung nabasa ko ‘yung mga articles and ‘yung balita kasi parang effective, effective ‘yung ginagawa namin sa show na parang nagiging totoo na sa kanila,” Jeric said.
Sheryl is convinced that the popularity of their show caused the rumors to break out.

“Sinasabi ko na lang sa sarili ko, ‘Ah dahil siguro maganda ‘yung ratings ng show namin at popular ‘yung show namin kaya siguro napag-uusapan kami,” Sheryl said.
In the Magkaagaw series, Sheryl plays the character of Veron Santos, a feisty, career-driven woman while Jeric is Jio Almonte, a loving husband to his wife, Clarisse, played by Klea Pineda. Jio will eventually engage in a secret affair with Veron.
Jeric and Klea were first rumored to be a couple since they were paired up in Magkaagaw last year. Photos of them together also added fuel to the rumors, but the two never confirmed the news.
